As a Sheet Metal Installer, you will be responsible for the layout, fabrication, and installation of metal edge systems, coping caps, gutters, downspouts, and custom flashings for commercial roofing systems. While your primary focus will be on sheet metal work, you may also be asked to assist with general roofing tasks when needed.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
- Fabricate, form, and install various sheet metal components including edge metal, coping, fascia, gutters, downspouts, and flashings
- Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and roof plans
- Operate brakes, shears, hand tools, and power tools to cut and shape metal
- Ensure proper fastening, sealing, and alignment of metal components per job requirements
- Collaborate with roofing teams to coordinate installation schedules and material needs
- Perform field measurements and assist in layout planning for complex roof details
- Occasionally assist with membrane roofing or other roofing tasks as assigned
- Assist with flashing around HVAC units, roof penetrations, skylights, and curbs
- Assist with layout and pre-fabrication of custom metal components in shop or field
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in sheet metal work, roofing sheet metal, architectural metal installation, or carpentry
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions
- Skilled in use of sheet metal tools and equipment
- Basic knowledge of commercial roofing systems preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Valid driver’s license preferred
