We are currently seeking EXPERIENCED shop and field technicians!
As a Heavy Equipment Technician, your more typical responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining construction on various types of construction equipment
- Utilizing problem-solving resources such as DTAC, technical manuals, personal skills, and experience in order to perform diagnosis of equipment problems
- Requesting proper parts needed for repair through the parts department and keeping track of machine status
- Planning and executing the sequence of repairs
- Conducting engine underhauls, head gaskets, rear axle replacement, hydraulic valves and pumps, rock shafts, and transmission repairs
- Preparing accurate inspection and service reports, and maintaining other records as required
- Following company policies and government regulations
- Keeping work areas clean and orderly, while complying with company safety standards
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience. For Field Tech position, must have a valid driver's license and ability to be insured on our policy.
- Vocation or technical degree, or equivalent work experience or training. 2 or more years of experience as a mechanic working on diesel equipment, specifically construction and/or forestry equipment is required for shop; 3 or more years of experience as a mechanic working on diesel equipment in a field setting, operating a service truck, is preferred for field tech position.
- Knowledge of service department operations, service department operations, and equipment technology.
- Recent computer knowledge.
- Ability to follow up on work orders and communicate accordingly with service advisors/writers and customers.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment with certification through John Deere is strongly preferred.
