Job Opportunity: Assistant Dietary Director
Capitol City Rehabilitation and Nursing in Washington, D.C., is seeking an experienced Assistant Dietary Director to support the dietary department.
Salary: Up to $55,000, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Dietary Manager:
- Performs and often leads the roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher.
- Operates a variety of industrial kitchen equipment.
- Leads small teams in food preparation, serving, and clean-up across different shifts.
- Assumes management and supervision of dietary staff at a single site in the absence of the Dietary Director, following policies, procedures, and federal/state regulations.
- Provides leadership and support to ensure food quality, inventory management, food safety, and customer service standards are met.
Certificates and Qualifications
- Current Food Safety Manager or Food Handler Certification (ServSafe or State certification) as required by State/County law.
- Or, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) / Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) certification if mandated by State regulation for long-term care facilities.
